Mike has attended the exam reading for the last 21 years, including 8 years as the exam leader. You'll also be entered to win a Fire Tablet from Amazon [Fire Tablet with Alexa, 7" Display, 16GB]. Every essay submission will receive a score and a contest entry. Only one contest winner will be chosen. The winner will be chosen at random.

We will email your score to the address you provide within ten days of submission. The deadline for submissions will be May 1st at 11:59pm. The winner of the contest will be announced Friday, May 5th, 2017 so that one of you will be guaranteed some good news on the day of the exam.

Please only submit responses to the four prompts found in Lessons 35 and 36 of U.S. History Skillbook, 3rd Edition. We won't score responses to other prompts and those responses will not count toward the contest.

You may submit one essay for each of the essay prompts and receive a score for each. Each essay submission will count as a contest entry. In other words, submit four essays and your name will be entered into the contest pool four times. We will email the contest winner at the email address provided, and will also announce the winner on our website and various social media feeds.

By submitting an essay, you are giving Sherpa Learning permission to use that essay as a sample response on the companion website www.sherpalearning.com/skillbook. That's it. No funny business. For the essays we choose to display, we will include your first name and name of your school, thereby allowing you to confirm or deny authorship as you see fit.
